If you are experiencing any issues setting up your smart home, please follow our step by step troubleshooting guide below.
Important Information for Apple Users
Apple has introduced support for the Matter standard in iOS 16.1, iPadOS 16.1, macOS Ventura, watchOS 9.1, tvOS 16.1, and HomePod Software 16.1. If the version of the software is older than 16.1, the PERGOLUX system will fail to connect. To ensure smooth pairing, please confirm that the device is updated to the required versions listed above.
Verify Software and OS Updates:
Ensure that the Smart Home system is updated to the latest software.
Confirm that the device used to control the system (phone, tablet, etc.) is running an updated operating system:
For iOS/iPadOS/macOS: Version 16.1 or later is required.
For Android devices: Version 13 or later is required.
These updates are crucial for Matter-compatible accessories to function correctly, including the connection of the Thread Border Router to the PERGOLUX Controller.
Check the Connection Range:
Confirm that the Thread Border Router or compatible Smart Home device is within range of the PERGOLUX S3 Control Box.
The range should be approximately 5-10 meters with minimal obstructions (such as walls or large furniture) between the PERGOLUX Control Box and the Thread Border Router.
If the Control Box is not ‘discoverable’ by the Thread Border Router, follow the next step.
Enter Pairing Mode:
If the PERGOLUX S3 Control Box is not detected, press the S2 button on the bottom of the remote three times.
The LEDs on the Control Box will blink, signalling that the box has entered pairing mode.
After this, attempt the connection again.
Power Cycle Devices:
If issues persist, it may be necessary to unplug both the PERGOLUX Control Box and the Smart Home system for several minutes. Reconnect the devices and try pairing again.
Final Checklist for Successful Setup
Smart Home Device Compatibility: Ensure the customer is using one of the tested smart home devices listed above.
Latest Software Versions: Confirm that the device and the Smart Home system are running the latest software versions, specifically iOS 16.1+ or Android 13+ for Matter support.
Connection Range: Ensure that the Thread Border Router or compatible Smart Home system is within the effective range of the PERGOLUX S3 Control Box (5-10 meters with minimal obstructions).
Pairing Mode: Make sure the PERGOLUX S3 Control Box is in pairing mode by pressing the S2 button if necessary.
Power Cycle: If necessary, unplug the devices for a few minutes and attempt the setup again.
By following these steps and confirming all conditions, you can ensure a smooth and successful setup for PERGOLUX smart home integration.
